Eckington music school needed more than council

Have your say

I would like to follow on to my last letter regarding the S21 Music Project at Eckington.

Their leader approached the parish council about using the Old Derbyshire times Office on the main road, it seemed in the bag, the project members even had a walk round and stayed, it was ideal. however, a short period of time before the parish council had a meeting and reneged on the deal saying they could not have the property.

What have we here a council that’s prepared to destroy parishioners children’s dreams. Many of these young had enjoyed music and learning to play an instrument.

To me the vote to let them have the property was a no brainer, do you vote to have these kids on or off the streets.

This parish could do with a music school a lot more than a parish council, perhaps its time a vote of no confidence was taken - I certainly don’t have any confidence in them.
