Chesterfield’s cycle tracks - a waste of resources

Have your say

I gather that even more expensive cycle tracks are to be added to roads in and around Chesterfield.

Hopefully that will mean that these unlicensed, non road tax paying cyclists will now be made to use tracks rather than either the middle of the road or the footpaths?

That would be nice, but in defence of pedal pushers, I have yet to see any cyclist use a cycle track in Chesterfield because they appear to be for the sole use of car and van owners for parking purposes.

Shouldn’t the priority here be in making sure the existing ones are available to use before any further expense in incurred? If existing tracks are not used regularly by the people for whom they were designed then there is little point in adding any more.

The money saved could then be better used in filling up the huge variety of potholes we have here.
