So Derbyshire Dales District Council have decided to abolish the Saturday bin lorries in the villages to save money, without any thought to the wishes of the voters.
The only service we must have from the District Council is clean streets and a really good bin service. All the other things are frills and fancies. We have the smallest wheelie bins in the UK, and now have to travel miles for bulky waste which used to be well catered for by the Saturday lorry.
How a Conservative council could vote this through is beyond belief.
The villages are getting up petitions and I trust there is a sensible rethink.
