A good improvement to Chesterfield would be to have a decent bus service from the railway station into the town centre.
Chesterfield has an excellent bus service on many routes, but hardly any call at the railway station.
This is a downfall on the people visiting the town by rail and it would help people who arrive home or come to the town, with heavy luggage or when it’s raining or cold.
To have to walk up to the town centre to get a bus home is very bad for women on their own at night as well.
With the amount of buses serving the area, it would not be a more costly service for buses to call at the station, a number 39 runs every ten minutes around the town.
