Nottingham County Court heard Jill Johnson subjected her neighbours to a continuous stream of anti-social behaviour – which included using foul, abusive and insulting language and banging on the walls of the adjoining property – over a ten-year-period.

Johnson, of Green Close, Renishaw, was issued with a five-year injunction order and ordered to pay almost £1,500 in costs by the court.

Speaking after the case, Keeley Wall said she was forced to move to Sheffield after spending almost two ‘nightmare’ years living next door to Johnson.

Keeley, 24, said: “I could fill the entire Derbyshire Times with stories about what that woman was like with me.

“Every day she’d shout out of her window and call me every name under the sun.

“She accused me of being involved in anti-social behaviour and drugs – all complete rubbish.

“She said she was going to poison my dog and have my child taken off me.

“Unbelievably, she got in touch with the RSPCA and NSPCC and wrongfully accused me of animal and child cruelty. Her allegations were investigated and found to be completely unfounded, of course.”

Keeley added: “She ruined my life over nearly two years.

“It was a nightmare, an absolute living hell. I’ve been left depressed and suffering from anxiety.

“She deserves to have been brought before the courts and named and shamed.”

North East Derbyshire District Council applied to the court for the injunction after complaints from Johnson’s neighbours and nearby residents increased.

The authority also received complaints from residents that Johnson shouted at and verbally abused very young children for playing in the cul-de- sac where she lived.

Councillor Jeff Lilley, the council’s cabinet member for community safety, said: “This is a case of one person making people’s lives a living hell – something which we simply will not put up with.

“We had tried to talk with the defendant and offer our help and assistance – but she just brushed this aside and continued with the abuse. So we took the decision that enough was enough and we would let the courts deal with the matter.

“We are delighted with the court’s decision and the residents and communities in the area can now get on with their lives and enjoy the peace and quiet of their homes.”

An injunction is a court order which requires someone to do or not to do something. If an injunction is broken, the offender may be jailed.
