It comes as two pals from a Ripley sports charity project, Georgie Hind,15, and Lien Lee-Ray, 16, were chosen to lead England out on to the pitch in their opening clash.
They were chosen after being recognised by Coca-Cola Great Britain for an outstanding contribution to junior football in their community. Georgie is a junior coach at SportingFutures, which is supported by StreetGames. Lien is a fellow StreetGames participant.
World Cup fever kicked off in Amber Valley with official mascot Fuleco visiting and the incredible news the two teenagers will have the eyes of the world upon them when the Three Lions get their campaign under way against Italy.
