Woman dies in road accident

A 48-year-old woman from Dronfield has died after a motorcycle crash.

Police said the woman, was travelling as the pillion passenger on a Suzuki motorbike when the collision occurred in Peafield Lane, in Mansfield Woodhouse. at around 7.15pm on Monday.

She and the 51-year-old man driving the bike were taken to King’s Mill Hospital, but she died from her injuries at 8pm. The man is currently in a critical condition in intensive care.

A police spokesman said: “The crash occurred when the motorcycle, travelling between Mansfield Woodhouse and Warsop Windmill towards Ollerton, was in collision with a Kia Picanto and a Rover.

“No one else was injured in the incident.”

Officers reopened the road at 11.40pm.
