Ann Pearman, president of Wingerworth Morning WI, welcomed members to the April meeting, especially Beryl Marshall returning following her accident.
Ann Pearman thanked all members who had provided refreshments and helped in the kitchen at the birthday meeting in March, as well as Cheryl Bell for providing the quiz.
She reported on items discussed at the group business meeting and it was announced that the group quiz would be held on May 2.
Sue Barrand confirmed the arrangements for the outing to Boundary Mill on April 18. Transport arrangements were made for members attending the spring group meeting at Ashover on the evening of the same day.
An invitation had been received from Wingerworth WI to their 80th birthday party on May 8, and would be attended by Hazel Spenceley and Beryl Marshall.
Following a break for refreshments, Karen Roberts gave a talk entitled “Come Laugh With Me” which encouraged members to laugh more each day.
The meeting ended with the drawing of the raffle which was won by June Jack and Pam Gleaves.
Members were reminded that the May meeting is the resolution meeting and any knitted items for the Shoebox Appeal should be brought as well as cakes and crafts to be sold on the sales table.
