Despite recommendations to refuse proposals, members of the Peak District National Park Authority have voted in favour of approving two wind turbines in the Dales.
The decision to allow two 33.4 metre high turbines at Hill Top Farm, Parwich, was made at an authority meeting on Friday, December 12.
Cllr Tony Favell, chair of the Peak District National Park Authority, said: “The application was against policy so the decision was whether the circumstances in this particular case meant that an exception could be made.
“The applicant made clear that getting cheap electricity was really important in enabling him to continue dairy farming in the long term.”
Construction of the turbines will commence within the next three years.
