VOLUNTEERS, marshals and first-aiders are needed to help out at the first Derbyshire Times and Polaris charity bike ride, to be held in aid of Ashgate Hospice.

The Flagg Challenge, on July 22, will take in 50 miles of Derbyshire roads, starting and finishing at the hospice on Ashgate Road.

As part of the race, riders will pass through Cutthorpe, Flagg, Rowsley and Baslow, with other Peak District locations en route.

But volunteers are still urgently needed to make the race – which will raise vital funds for the hospice – a success.

If you can’t be a competitor but still want to take part in the event by volunteering to help out on the day please contact either Jon Cooper at the Derbyshire Times on 01246 504524 or jon.cooper@derbyshiretimes.co.uk or Emily Evans at Ashgate Hospice on 01246 567250 or emily.evans@ashgatehospice.nhs.uk

Anyone wishing to sponsor Jon can call him direct, or by visiting his fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/jonathan-cooper5

To enter the race, please contact Emily at the hospice.
