Villagers are set to hold a public meeting to discuss controversial plans to drill for natural gas in Calow.
Seven Star Natural Gas Limited is applying to Derbyshire County Council for planning permission to extract natural gas on land off Dark Lane, Calow, to generate electricity.
The operation would be carried out 24 hours a day, seven days per week for a period of up to 15 years.
Villagers have launched a petition against the plans, voicing fears over an increase in noise and pollution.
They are inviting residents to attend a public meeting which will be held at Calow Community Centre at 8pm tomorrow (Wednesday).
