VIDEO: Firefighters and police run-ragged by wild storm

Police and emergency services across the county received nearly 90 call-outs during the devastating wind storms that hit Derbyshire.

Winds ripped across the region between Wednesday evening, February 12, and Thursday, February 13, causing a trail of destruction and disruption with collapsed trees, blocked highways, gridlock traffic and long delays for travellers.

Derbyshire Times’ reader Sue Eyre captured video footage, see attached, of firefighters dealing with a chimney which collapsed near the Regal nightclub, Ripley, near the town centre.
