VIDEO: Chesterfield train station hit by '˜scumbag' criminals

Officers were alerted at 4.45am after offenders damaged the car park machines and smashed the windows of the waiting rooms at platform one.

Police tape has been put up in various parts of the station. Services are running as normal. 

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Officers are at the scene assessing the damage and to see if anything has been stolen.

“Anyone who can help with the investigation should call police on 0800 40 50 40.”

Derbyshire Times’ readers described the criminals as ‘scumbags’ and ‘idiots’.
