VIDEO: CHESTERFIELD CRASH UPDATE - Witness appeal after 87-year-old dies after collision with coach

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly pedestrian died following a collision with a coach in Chesterfield.

At around 1.20pm on Wednesday February 25, a National Express coach was in collision with an 87-year-old man as it pulled out from the coach station onto Beetwell Street.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been formally identified.

The road was closed until 5.45pm whilst police carried out inquiries.

Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the crash and are asking witnesses to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 287 of 25.02.2015.
