Jane Watson won the chance to meet Mary at the fair, which took place at the weekend. As well as enjoying a three-course lunch with Mary, a judge on The Great British Bake Off, Jane, and her friend Catherine Robinson, had chance to ask her questions, and also sat next to the stage as Mary gave a cookery demonstration.

Jane said: “I couldn’t believe it. It was brilliant.”

The three-day country fair featured a range of attractions for all the family to enjoy.

In the grand ring, mounted games saw Derbyshire pitted against a number of other counties, while the Knights of Arkley brought a touch of nostalgia to proceedings with their jousting display.

The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team The White Helmets put on a thrilling, high octane display of stunts that wowed the crowds, with Jump4Heroes, The Royal British Legion Extreme Human Flight Team, also a highlight as they parachuted into the grand ring.

Elsewhere, a huge variety of stalls and displays, plus a flypast by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Hurricane and Spitfire, kept visitors entertained throughout the weekend.
