A car crashed into a bus within the grounds of Chesterfield Royal Hospital this morning.
The Audi collided with the Stagecoach bus at about 9.30am.
An eyewitness said: “The driver approached the disabled barrier and must have pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes.
“They shot straight through the barrier, knocking it off, then into the bus.”
Matt Davies, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “There were no passengers on board the bus at the time and the car driver and passenger went to hospital as a precaution.
“The vehicle has returned to the depot with minor damage.
“A replacement bus was provided and normal service resumed quickly.”
