A lively programme of entertainment will banish the post-Christmas blues and put a smile on the faces of theatregoers young and old.
There are a number of key productions to look out for in the new season of entertainment at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal.
A heartbreaking interpretation of Cinderella, set in the midst of wartorn London, will be staged by Matthew Bourne’s dance company from January 25 to 29 and Roy Kinnear stars in the National Theatre production of Hamlet (February 15-19).
The larger than life West End musical company Hairspray comes to the city from March 1-12.
Dancers and music stars will be lighting up the stage in the adjacent Royal Concert Hall.
St Petersburg Ballet Theatre are in residence this week with a stylish and dramatic programme including Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty.
Pop stars on their way to the city include Alexandra Burke (January 31), The Saturdays (February 12) and James Blunt (February 21).
