A SHOCKED grandfather was among residents who had their cars vandalised during a wrecking spree in their neighbourhood.
Keith Shutler, 71, of Occupation Road, at Whittington Moor, Chesterfield, woke last Saturday morning, September 10, to find his Vauxhall Zafira had a slashed tyre, another pierced tyre and a deep scratch.
The retired coach driver said: “I felt really rotten about this because my wife Christine’s disabled and has been very ill and if we had needed the car to get to hospital she might have been left in trouble.”
Mr Shutler’s car was one of about six vehicles around nearby Stand Road to have been targeted, damaged and scratched between last Friday, September 9, and Saturday, September 10.
Derbyshire Constabulary are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call police on 0345 123 3333 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
