A road traffic accident in Chesterfield has taken the life of a motorcyclist this morning, August 13.
Derbyshire police have confirmed that an incident involving a motorbike has taken the life of the male rider who was travelling along Newbold Road at around 10.20am.
Officers said the ambulance service were the first to arrive and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “It is not thought that any other vehicles were involved.
“The air ambulance was called but the motorbike rider was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Part of Newbold Road has been closed at its junctions with Bowness Road and Keswick Drive, and will remain shut until further notice.
Police added that the motorcyclist has yet to be formally identified.
