POLICE have arrested and charged two people for allegedly stealing copper from outside a house in Staveley.
It is in connection with an incident at College Avenue at around 1.20pm on Wednesday, November 30.
A copper cylinder was stolen from the front garden of the house.
Police are currently running Operation Calanthia, a county-wide initiative to target the growing problem of theft of metal such as copper, lead, iron and steal.
A 21-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy, both from the Chesterfield area, were arrested on the same day and charged with theft.
They are set to appear before magistrates in Chesterfield on Monday, December 12.
