Two men charged with carrying an imitation firearm in Creswell

Two men have been charged with carrying an imitation firearm in public following an incident in Creswell last month.

Police were called to the Elmton Road area at around 10.50am on Saturday, December 15 following reports of two men carrying a hand gun.

They were also alerted by a train passenger who had allegedly noticed the men at Creswell Railway Station.

Both men were arrested following a search of the area by local and armed response officers. A BB gun and pellets were seized.

The men, aged 19 and 25, and from Creswell, will appear before magistrates in Chesterfield on Monday, January 14.
