Trips down memory lane

Transpire, the Chesterfield Bus Society, is gearing up for its two big annual events in the Chesterfield area, for all lovers of preserved buses from the town and further afield.

On Saturday, June 2, they are organising the Chesterfield Preserved Buses Running Day and should see up to 12 buses which used to operate in the Chesterfield area providing a timetable of free services from St Mary’s School bus park to various destinations, as well as gathering at the bus park for photo opportunities.

On Sunday, June 17, the Peak Park Preserved Bus Gathering takes place on Peak Rail’s Rowsley South Station. This event features a large sales stall area for transport memorabilia, preserved buses from Chesterfield and beyond, and frequent free bus services on the preserved vehicles to Bakewell, Matlock, Chatsworth and Darley Dale Station; as well as offering the opportunity to travel on Peak Rail itself.
