THREE Chesterfield men have been given football banning orders following a fight after a match.

Keith Hardy, Julian Morris and Mark Whitehead have all been banned from attending football matches for three years.

Police were called to Corporation Street on April 2 after reports that a fight had broken out and a man had been assaulted. Police studied CCTV and identified the three men as being involved.

A match between Chesterfield and Port Vale FC had taken place in the town earlier that day.

Hardy, 45, of Shirland Street, pleaded guilty to affray and was ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid work, given a three month curfew and told to pay £235 costs.

Morris, 36, of Cobnar Drive, also admitted affray. He was sentenced to 100 hours unpaid work and a four month curfew and ordered to pay £100 costs.

Whitehead, 50, of Willow Garth Road, pleaded guilty to a public order offence and was given a 12 month conditional discharge. He was told to pay £235 costs.
