Firefighters called to road traffic collision in Renishaw

Firefighters from Staveley were called out to a road traffic collision in Renishaw on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred on Main Road at 9.49am and involved two vehicles.

The road was fully closed while fire crews assisted the ambulance service with two casualties and dealt with a fuel spillage.

The incident resulted in damage to a fence and one of the drivers was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

The police service were also in attendance and the incident was declared closed at 10.12am.
