Chatsworth is expecting bumper crowds at its ever-popular Christmas Markets this year and has advised visitors to plan their trip carefully to avoid increased traffic in the area.
The Christmas markets run from November 14-24 and will be bigger than 2012, with more than 100 stalls. Chatsworth has previously had very high volumes of traffic during the Christmas market weekends and has extended the dates this year to alleviate congestion on local roads.
The Peak District estate is advising visitors to avoid planning a trip during the peak times between 11am and 1pm on the Saturdays and Sundays. Due to limited car parking spaces queues may form if the car park becomes full, and in such a situation Chatsworth will operate a one car in, one car out policy.
The bus to Chatsworth will stop off at Edensor, ten minutes walk from the usual bus stop by Chatsworth car park.
