A TOWN shopping centre is flushed with success after clinching a top award for its toilets.
Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, in Chesterfield, has won a Loo of the Year Award with five stars.
The accolade is the highest possible award for public loos and awarded by the British Toilet Association following an impromptu inspection last September.
The toilets, situated adjacent to the car park in Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, are constantly cleaned and inspected by a dedicated team.
Supervisor Sue Blackburn said: “This award is for the whole team and it has made my day.
“It’s really nice to gain recognition for our work,” she added.
The cleaning team’s five members have been working at Vicar Lane Shopping Centre for between two and 11 years.
They are responsible for the whole site, which includes Steeplegate and the service yards on Church Lane and Beetwell Street.
