FOOD fans flocked to Bakewell for the town’s first culinary celebration.

Visitors had the chance to sample some of the best of local produce from pickles, cheeses, pies, beers, wines and chocolate across the town on Saturday.

Highlights included demonstrations from Hartington’s Cookery School and the Bakewell Pudding Parlour created a giant Bakewell Tart.

Jill Ferguson, who helped organise the event, said: “We’ve had lots of positive feed back and ‘When’s the next one’ was a regular question.”
