The passenger in the recovery vehicle, a man in his 30s, was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital suffering minor hand injuries.

Several businesses have been affected and the collision also caused a suspected gas leak.

Victoria Street was closed between the junction with the A57 High Street East/West and Turnlee Road. Road closures and diversions are still in place.

Both vehicles remain in situ due to structural damage caused to the buildings.
