EXECUTIVES from Countrywide, the UK’s largest estate agency and property services group, have been welcomed to North Derbyshire and Sheffield in their first visit since their acquisition of Blundells was announced last week.
Led by Countrywide Group’s chief executive Grenville Turner, Robert Scarff, managing director of the estate agency division, along with Margaret Longden, co-managing director of lettings and finance director Graham Bell met Blundells employees and toured the company’s 13 offices throughout the region.
Steve Hinshelwood, managing director of Blundells, which following its launch in 1977, has grown to become Sheffield and North Derbyshire’s leading estate and lettings agency, said: “It was great to welcome the Countrywide team. The aim of this meet and greet was to officially introduce Countrywide’s management team to meet our fellow colleagues and discuss in much greater details the opportunities that this acquisition has brought for Blundells and how we can develop our services local buyers and sellers.
“The property market remains relatively resilient and we expect to see some steady growth in the final half of the year as this acquisition brings a new impetus to the business and enables us to continue to expand and diversify in all areas of the company.”
Blundells will continue to operate as a business in its own right and will join Countrywide’s network of 1,300 offices and 46 leading estate agency and letting brands which include Sotheby’s International Realty, Bridgfords and Hamptons International.
