A SHORTLIST of firms in with a chance of winning thousands of pounds of free advertising and mentoring advice as part of the Derbyshire Times’s Local Business Accelerators competition will be announced next month.
Fledgling companies from manufacturing, retail, catering, IT and other fields from the DT readership area have recognised the importance of newspaper advertising by entering our newspaper’s competition.
The DT winner will get an advertising package worth £18,104, the second placed runner-up will get one worth £8,959 and the third placed runner-up will get one worth £6,779 and all three will get business mentoring.
The Newspaper Society-backed LBA competition has been set up for businesses between one and three years-old with potential, a great idea, product or plans to venture into a new market and a desire to create jobs.
Many who fitted the criteria entered the competition before a November 14 deadline and a shortlist will be announced by December 7 and the winners will be announced by January 11, 2012. The advertising and mentoring will run from January to April 2012.
