CHESTERFIELD town centre bar Back to the Nineties is holding a charity gig to help boost funds for Leukaemia Research.

The For the Love of It music festival at the venue, on Holywell Street, takes place on Sunday, September 9, with proceeds from ticket sales going to the charity.

A local artist is also doing a canvas picture for all the bands to sign and this will be auctioned off to boost charity funds. Tickets will be £4 and £5 on the door and doors open from 2pm with the event running until 11pm.

Organiser Jason Field said: “We decided to name the event For The Love Of It for the love of the charity, for the love of those who have died from the disease and for the love of music.”

The music festival includes the following nine bands What if We Were Super Heroes, Heroes Never Drown, The Chosen Rejects, Without Our Crowns, Half Cutt (Drummer vs DJ), Dishonest Truth, All In Vein, Dismissive Attack!! and Midday Committee.
