TIBSHELF: Parish Church hosts concert by Take-Note Choir

A concert in Tibshelf Parish Church produced another sparkling performance by Take-Note Choir. This 20-strong mixed voice choir which practices in the church rooms, consists of people from Wingerworth, Clay Cross, Pilsley, Tibshelf, Stonebroom, Pleasley, Bolsover, Skegby, and Nottingham.

They have previously donated and raised enough money through this concert to upgrade the less than adequate heating system in the rooms. The work of installing new radiators should now start quite soon.

Various soloists and readings, together with the choir’s usual eclectic mix of songs brought enthusiastic applause from the appreciative audience.

A vote of thanks to the musical director, pianist and choir was given by the newly ordained Tibshelf curate, the Re Derrick Hesketh. Among other things, he commented on the beautiful tone produced by Take-Note which was enhanced by the good acoustics inside the church.

The choir are hoping to give a charity concert in Tibshelf later on in the year.
