Tibshelf Community School students celebrate becoming peer mentors.

A group of 24 students from Tibshelf Community School have been celebrating after completing their training to become peer mentors.

The two-day course was led by Sarah Chajecka and Matthew Osborne from Derbyshire Health Promotion Services.

Students in Year 9 and Year 10 at Tibshelf have volunteered their time to support students in Year 7.

Peer mentors are attached to specific Year 7 form groups to enable them to get to know students and support them where they can.

They have been helping to deliver PHSE lessons as part of Tibshelf’s anti-bullying work.
