A drug dealer from Chesterfield has been handed a three year jail sentence.

Mohammed Iqbal was sentenced to three years imprisonment after pleading guilty to possessing a cathinone derivative with intent to supply and two counts of supplying the same drug. He also admitted supplying cannabis and cocaine and offering to supply MDMA.

The sentence was passed at Derby Crown Court on Thursday, December 3.

Officers stopped two men in a black BMW along Prospect Road in Old Whittington, Chesterfield, in November last year after the vehicle appeared to have illegal registration plates.

After pulling the car over, officers carried out a search of the vehicle and Iqbal, finding him in possession of drugs and cash. More drugs were found at a house in Old Whittington that he had access to.

Iqbal was arrested and was later charged alongside a 23-year-old man.

Iqbal, 28, of Sterland Street, Chesterfield, appeared before Northern Derbyshire Magistrates in July last year before being sentenced at Derby Crown Court this month.
