WIG-WEARING fundraisers tied together stepped out to raise cash for a new charity.
They took in 11 Brampton pubs, starting at The Britannia, on Saturday August 6 to boost the £25,000 initial cost needed for Embracing Life, a new centre where those with a life-changing physical medical problem can access support, advice and free therapies.
Each pair selected a domino from every pub’s landlord with the number of spots counted until the highest score won a summer barbecue hamper.
It ended with a hog roast, music and a raffle draw which local businesses and pubs donated prizes for.
Karen Carroll, secretary of Embracing Life, said: “The whole committee would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who took part.
“From those who thought of the original idea, the 11 pubs for helping us stage the event, the Mayor and Mayoress of Chesterfield for coming along to support us and especially to John and Jodie of the Britannia, without whose support we would not have had such a great time.”
