A TEENAGE singer’s dreams of talent show glory ended in tears when she missed out on a place in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
Chelsea Redfern, of Stanley Avenue, Inkersall, Chesterfield, had wowed the judges with her rendition of Prince hit Purple Rain during her initial audition.
But the former pupil at Netherthorpe School in Staveley missed out on one of the 45 places to perform for public votes in the show’s live semi-finals this week.
After being turned down on Saturday’s show, the 18-year-old told presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly: “I’m just heartbroken really.”
And the 2009 winner of Chesterfield’s Got Talent later tweeted: “Thank you to everyone for your support. I am so grateful to every single one of you and I’m thankful to Britain’s Got Talent for the experience.”
