Talented young people finished the winter term on a high note after performing a selection of music to a delighted audience.

The annual Christmas concert, held at Highfields School, in Matlock, was well attended by friends, family and students.

More than 150 students and staff performed a wide range of music over the course of two evenings.

Music included in the shows included vocal performances, piano and acoustic guitar solos, saxophone, folk and caberet emsembles.

There were also junior and senior choirs.

Damian O’Reilly, head of music at Highfields School, said, “Our Christmas concert is a chance to showcase the musical talent we have at Highfields.

“I am always very proud of the range and calibre of our student performances, and of course it puts us all in the mood for Christmas.”
