With just a few days of the Easter holidays left you may be running out of ideas for where to take the kids.

Here are some suggestions for places to go which might help the next few days run a bit smoother.

Gulliver's Kingdom at Matlock Bath: Half of its attractions are undercover which makes it an options even if it rains. You can buy tickets at a discounted price if you book online at least two days in advance. Matlock Farm Park: It's website states 'There is plenty to do for children, with lots of animals to see and feed, as well as smaller cuddly animals to pet in our barn. Learn more about our meerkats through our daily talks, short pony rides are on most days and you can have a free bet on our ferret races! We have a variety of play equipment, go-carts, a lovely café and a shop to browse. We also have a riding school and trekking centre, offering riding to all abilities.' Bluebells Dairy: Well known for their ice cream, Bluebells Dairy is located in Derby and has an ice cream Easter trail until April 17. as well as animal patting sessions. More information can be found at http://www.bluebelldairy.co.uk

Willow Tree Family Farm: Based in Shirebrook, Willow tree Farm is home to a number of meerkats that children can meet. The attraction has farm animals to see including goats and llamas. Furry friends area with chinchillas, rabbits, degus, chipmunks, meerkats and guinea pigs. Reptile house with lizards, stick insects, snakes, millipedes and cockroaches. Poolsbrook Country Park: The site boasts a Visitor Centre that houses the Ranger base, public toilets, community meeting rooms, a base for the Walk This Way Project and a Community Cafe. Also in the park are a Children's Adventure Play area, picnic sites, sledging slopes, four miles of trails of cycling, horse riding and walking and lakes for angling. Erewash Museum, Ilkeston: There is always lots going on at Erewash Museum with plenty of activities for children over the holidays, such as animals week which starts on Monday.Gardening week is currently underway, until Friday. More information at erewashmuseum.co.uk

Buxton Raceway: Buxton Raceway is situated in the beautiful Peak District, it boasts a 380 metre tarmac oval with steel plate fencing and a figure of eight circuit. In 2016 Buxton Raceway are offering the chance for kids (5 years old to 15 years old inclusive) to gain admission to race meetings for free. This applies to most events at Buxton Raceway.
