Coffee

St James Church, Temple Normanton, held a Posh Coffee Morning in the church last Saturday morning. Organised by churchwarden Barbara Marshall, church secretary Julie Marshall and Margaret Sheikh, who also made many of the cakes themselves. Visitors could select from a selection of five fine coffees and teas, as well as a fine mouth watering selection of home made cakes. There was also a raffle, with prizes won by Mary Thompson, Marjorie Clarke, Christopher Moorcroft, Albert Clarke, Colin Greaves, Jean Knox, Linda Davies and Soraya Sheikh. The event raised over £240 for church funds.

Food Bank

At the Parish Mass at St James Church, Temple Normanton, on Sunday morning, led by the Vicar of Temple Normanton, Fr Malcolm Ainscough, the guest preacher was Andrew Fellowes from the Clay Cros Food Bank. Andrew spoke to the congregation about the formation of the bank some three years ago, and since that time over 1000 families have been helped, and the Food Bank has distributed eight tons of food. St James Church supported the charity with a donation, and collected many food items which Andrew took with him back to the Food Bank.
