Teenager needs treatment after stabbing

POLICE are investigating an assault in the garden of a house in Somercotes.

The ambulance service contacted police just after 10pm, Sunday, August 14, to report that paramedics had been called to a stabbing in Nottingham Road.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “They found a 19-year-old man with a stab wound to his back and four to his legs.

“He was taken to King’s Mill Hospital. at Sutton-in-Ashfield, for treatment and was later released.”

Officers are trying to trace the offender. The house remained cordoned off this morning while forensic examinations take place.
