Two local causes are calling on Dales fundraisers to pick up their lantarns and take part in a winter walk.

The Winter Lantern Walk will take place on November 28, leaving Bakewell Showground at 5pm.

The event is in aid of Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport and Helen’s Trust, and participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship.

Bakewell Mayor, Paul Morgans, and local theatre troup, The Babbling Vagabonds will lead the walk along the Monsal Trail to Thornbridge Hall where there will be a harpist and more entertainment, along with hot chocolate and cookies for everyone. Return transport will be provided.

“This is a real community event,” said Helen’s Trust communication and events manager Helen Carr.

“We have local Brownies taking part, walking groups and lots of people from other local businesses, organisations and the local community.”

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2 for concessions and sponsorship forms are available from www.helenstrust.org.uk or by calling Lisa on 01629 812759.
