Residents had been due to go to polls on Thursday, May 22, when other voters in the third of wards up for election on Amber Valley were being contested and on the same day as the rest of the country was choosing its MEPs in the European elections.

But the death of Conservative candidate Patrica Watson meant the Swanwick election was put on hold.
