The roads authority tweeted just after noon today (March 28) that drivers should 'be aware' as the slip road at junction 28 has been closed.

They tweeted it is "due to a swan in the carriageway."

By 12.40 they informed that the swan had been moved and the northbound entry slip road had re-opened after the swan flew off.

But the incident didn’t go down too well with some motorists. Drew Faulkner tweeted Highways England saying: “You’ve closed the #M1 entry because there’s a big duck on the slip road? #madness”
