Police have revealed that the cause of a devastating house fire that destroyed a property in Inkersall is most likely to have been accidental.

The inferno was discovered at the semi-detached property on Avondale Road, Inkersall, near Staveley, about 11.30am, on Wednesday, September 18.

John Stokes had to led to safety from his blazing home by neighbours and his wife Andrea returned from walking their dog to find the house engulfed in flames and smoke.
