COLLEGE staff are being balloted for strike action.
If the ballot is successful, Chesterfield College workers will take industrial action over redundancies and pay cuts.
Eighty people are set to be made redundant at the facility on Infirmary Road.
A spokesman for University and College Union (UCU) said staff were also facing pay cuts.
The hourly rate of pay is to be slashed and lecturers will be unable to progress up the pay scale.
A spokeswoman for UCU said: “In the meantime we are continuing to talk to management about the situation at the college but we have not made a great deal of progress.
“While we are keeping the channels of communications open it’s fair to say there has not been a great deal of movement on the managements part.”
The ballot closes tomorrow.
Staff from all areas of the college will be affected.
