SOAP stars are clashing with local football legends in a charity match.
The game at Chesterfield FC’s B2Net Stadium this Sunday May 29 will boost former 1980s club striker Phil Walker’s charity efforts with son Jamie, a former Mansfield Town FC trainee four years into remission from lymphoma cancer.
Actors from Eastenders, Emmerdale and other soaps will play a selection of Chesterfield favourites such as Jamie Hewitt, Andy Morris and Ernie Moss in the sixth annual match.
The Walkers have raised more than £65,000 in the last five years for various charities.
Entertainment also includes children’s face painting, a raffle and auction. Kick off is at 3pm and proceeds go to the Lymphoma Association, Shannon Bradshaw Trust and Chesterfield FC Community Trust.
For tickets call Chesterfield’s club shop on 01246 209765 or pay on the day.
