While the rest of the country was glued to Britain’s Got Talent on the telly, performers proved Bolsover’s Got Talent in a live show which celebrated 30 years of entertaining the public.
Musicals, plays and pantos have been the forte of Bolsover Drama Group for three decades. On Saturday, June 4, the group broke new ground by staging its first show devoted entirely to songs from the shows.
With no characters to hide behind and an absence of colourful costumes and scenery, group members had to rely on vocal talents and stagecraft to win over spectators at the town’s Assembly Rooms.
It didn’t take long before the 80-strong audience, which included children and pensioners, was hooked on the magical mix of singing and dancing.
