A Chesterfield based solicitor has completed a 200 mile walk to boost funds for charity.
Bertie Mather has completed the Coast to Coast walk from St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay , a distance of about 200 miles over a period of 15 days.
Bertie undertook the walk to raise money for three charities, Prostate Cancer UK after being a former suffer, The Blue Bell Wood Children’s Hospice and the Ashgate Hospice.
“Everyone, relatives, friends, colleagues and business partners have all been so generous in their contributions which total approximately £4300,” he said.
Despite being 71 years old, Bertie continues to practise criminal law with Elliot Mather LLP Solicitors, continuing his career there which has spanned his whole working life, following on from his father and grandfather, both Chesterfield solicitors.
He added: “The walk itself was a wonderful experience, through the most rugged and breathtaking countryside imaginable.
“The walk was most invigorating, but certainly not for the fainthearted .”
