Shop backs Kilimanjaro charity climb

A charity bid to climb

Africa’s highest peak has been backed by a gift shop.

Tracey Harrison, owner of Avant Garde, Baslow is supporting William Tudor Jones who is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for of Helen’s Trust.

Podiatrist, William – a trustee of the Bakewell-based charity – will tackle the 5896 metre mountain on September 27.

Between now and his return to the UK, Avant Garde will donate £1 for every spend over £25 to the cause, with each customer being entered into a draw to win £250 to spend in store.

Tracey, said: “Helen’s Trust is a very worthwhile local charity and we are delighted to be doing something that will both help generate funds and to raise the profile of his challenge.”

Heidi Megaughin, the charity’s chief executive, added: “This really is above and beyond the role of a trustee and we all wish William the best of luck with what will be the challenge of a lifetime.”
