Second youth arrested in connection with chicken death

POLICE have arrested a second teenager in connection with an incident where a chicken was stolen from a farm and killed.

The 15-year-old Langwith Junction boy was arrested yesterday on suspicion of theft and animal cruelty. He has been interviewed and released on bail pending further inquiries.

Another 15-year-old boy from Shirebrook, arrested earlier in the week, remains on bail.

A chicken was stolen from a farm off Langwith Road, Shirebrook, on Friday, January 6. It was taken to a nearby leisure centre and killed.
